For the second day in a row, the cover of the New York Post includes nude images of Melania Trump, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The photos show a young Melania in bed with another nude female model. The headline says “Ménage A Trump” and “Melania pics with model First Lady.” (Caution: Link contains images that may be offensive.)
The photos are part of a 1995 series shot in New York by French fashion photographer Jarl Ale de Basseville for the now-defunct Max Magazine. Slovenian-born Melania Trump, who then went by the name “Melania K,” was 25-years-old at the time of the photo shoot.
It’s the second consecutive day the Post has printed nude images of Melania, who met Donald Trump in 1998 and married him in 2005. The couple has one son, Barron, 10.
On Sunday, the Post ran a front page photo of a nude Melania with the title “The Ogle Office.” Trump’s campaign dismissed the photos, saying they were “nothing to be embarrassed about.”
On Monday, Trump responded to the photos.
“Melania was one of the most successful models, and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common,” Trump told the Post.
Printing photos criticized
Commenters online have criticized the Post for printing the decades old photos.
Actress Patricia Arquette, a vocal critic of Donald Trump, said the photos should not be an issue.
So @MELANIATRUMP was naked. She was a model. Now leave her alone.
